EDIT: "Clown Island" is back. Several people have told me that they liked it. Go figure.

Previous note: Most likely I'll be taking ~~a couple weeks off~~ an undetermined period off at this point. Let's say three months. I'm not doing this feature for profit and I don't want it to interfere with my life (if only because I'll be thinking of comic ideas instead of studifyin'). I also don't want this strip's ideas to suffer as a result.

My thanks to athos~* for the image "Hope" and an unattributed image of outer space I found in several places.

EDIT: Similarities to the shape depicting God in Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal are unintentional (mainly because I hadn't read any of that feature's God strips when I wrote this). Of course, using simple forms to represent inscrutable, powerful beings is nothing new.

Update: I recently ran into a nearly identical strip in a book of New Yorker cartoons (actually, the big book of New Yorker cartoons). The other guy predated this joke by decades, which means that it's exactly the sort of droll, subtle humor that I should be avoiding. I came up with this sucker independently, for the record.

Drawing the ties was the hardest part - stick figures have no neck.

My roommate's new scanner is working! Forest For the Trees will be back up soon, hopefully tomorrow but definitely by Friday. I have a good dozen new drawings to go up.
